It's August 27th 2004. It may be difficult to get the
roof on before the weather turns. We are just barely on the second
floor, yet to lay a log. Fall is around the corner and winter weather
typically comes in mid Sept and no later than October. Got to get the
roof on and protection for the building before the big weather change.
The second floor deck is down. Greg and I got it done
in 1 and 1/2 days. 3/4" T&G plywood that is visible from the 1st floor
in the living room and spare bedroom.
Interior walls are erected. Greg and I got these done
in about 7 hours. The whole plan was to get these interior walls up
before the rains came. I needed the walls to hold up the tarp covering
the project.
Tarp is covering the project ( Literally - just moments before the rains
started!). Our timing couldn't have been closer.
Lower electrical receptacles are installed on the exterior
Sing Logs. These went pretty fast - I just hope they all work!
Today Sunday the 29th of August I got to the 4th log high on
the second floor. Everything seems to be going much faster than on the
1st floor. My target is October to get the roof on. Once that
roof is on I will be able to relax allot and not have to constantly worry
about the wind and the rain. The weather has been a major obstacle for
this project. The roof will control all that and the finish work can
proceed without much weather problems.
